Bethlehem Pottery Club
Website
Bethlehem Pottery Club has been operating since 1975 and includes men and women of all ages and abilities who love working with clay. Many of our members, and earlier members, are award-winning practising artists who specialise in different themes of ceramic art.
The studio is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays for daytime club sessions where our members support others to learn new skills and techniques. Evening classes for beginners, and specialty techniques are run throughout the year.
The club is led by a President and Committee, elected at the AGM in July. Other members provide specialist help when required, eg, to run events, help with promotion etc.
Facilities:
Our studio provides a range of equipment for members to use, including pottery wheels, kilns, a slab roller, extruders and plenty of working and drying space. We also have a well-stocked glaze room and glazing equipment.
Community Links:
We play an active role in our community by running classes for community groups and residents of the Bob Owens Retirement Village, as well as providing firing services in our kilns on behalf of other groups and organisations.
Exhibitions:
Our club hosts the prestigious annual Bay Clay exhibition in November and at least one other exhibition during the year. We also have a gallery attached to our studio where members can display and sell their work.
