All our exhibits have strong conceptual context and high standards of presentation. By connecting different disciplines to produce powerful projects, Elbowroom provides a platform for discussion that starts from, but is not limited to, the creative arts.

The concept of the moving gallery is that each exhibition or event 'pops up' in different spaces around Wellington City ...and the world, if opportunities arise! Moving around allows for surprise and to experiment with shape and context, to be flexible and responsive to change and to reach a broad range of people - all while promoting the potential of art in non-gallery spaces.

The structure of Elbowroom is exploratory and unconventional, seeking to make creative ventures accessible by keeping costs to a minimum for artists, audience and others involved.
