Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision is New Zealand’s audiovisual archive. The archive cares for an ever-growing collection of films, radio, television, sound recordings, props and documents spanning 120 years of Aotearoa’s sound and moving image history. Currently located on the corner of Taranaki and Ghuznee Streets, the archive will be moving in May 2019 to the National Library Building on Molesworth Street and so our cinema and cafe have been closed. Until then our media library is open to the public 12-4pm Mon-Fri, and the Jonathan Dennis research library can be accessed by appointment only on weekdays. Our reception/office hours are Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm.
