Gallery on Blueskin was established and opened in February 2008 by Louise Burnside and Nicky Clarke, of Waitati. Located in the old Waitati Post Office and telephone exchange, it is at the entrance to the village and visible from the main highway, SH1. Being only 15 minutes North of Dunedin means the gallery is certainly part of the thriving cultural community of the city, while also attracting clientelle from Central Otago and Canterbury by being on the main route north.

The building has three distinct spaces for exhibiting art inside and also has a gorgeous courtyard garden with stunning views of the Bay. This space is often used for functions and outdoor musical events.

The decor of the gallery is simple, clean cut and stylish, with charcoal slate floor tiles throughout and white or black walls.

Exhibiting an interesting variety of local contemporary art, this is the place to come to view something that is just a bit different. There is also a great selection of jewellery, both contemporary and crafty.

The gallery hosts shows throughout the year, both solo and group exhibitions and encourages artists to either phone or visit to talk about holding a show in the future. Work is sold on a commission basis.
