Good Books

GOOD BOOKS was founded in July 2020 by two writers, Jane Arthur and Catherine Robertson, because the middle of a pandemic is always the ideal time to start a new business. Jane has over fifteen years of bookselling and publishing experience, and Catherine has fond memories of very briefly working at Whitcoulls when she was at university. This is why Jane is GOOD BOOKS’ manager and Catherine is not. GOOD BOOKS opened its doors in October 2020.

GOOD BOOKS is all about the joy of reading and discovering new books you’ll love. No bookshop should make you feel self-conscious about what you like to read. We have fantasy, YA, romance, memoirs, poetry, art and Jack Reacher. We have science, politics, graphic novels and Poo Bum. We have our own books, because that’s what happens when writers set up bookshops. We’re small, so we only stock the books we believe are truly good.

We have a table and chairs you’re welcome to sit at. We have an awesome bookselling team, and welcome (nay, encourage) you to bring your dogs for a visit. We have a special GOOD BOOKS Club you can belong to, our very own exclusive range of gifts and limited-edition merch.
