Govett-Brewster Art Gallery

As Aotearoa New Zealand's contemporary art museum we present three exhibition suites per year. In order for us to do this, parts of the building are closed at certain times of the year to enable the changeover of exhibitions. These times are around Mar/Apr, Jul/Aug and Nov/Dec.

If you're planning to visit around these times please check our website – our exhibitions pages will tell you when exhibitions open and close. We will always be open seven days a week though (closing only on Christmas Day), with the unique Govett-Brewster Design Shop and the Len Lye Centre cinema screening the world's best films.
