Hauraki North dates back to 1909. Formerly known as Waitakaruru, the Club is located on the Hauraki Plains at Waitakaruru Domain, 20 minutes from the Coromandel Peninsula, one hour South of Auckland and one hour north of Hamilton. Waitakaruru is a small farming village with a primary school.
The Club usually has three teams, an Under 21's, Senior Second Division and Premiere side. We are one of the only Thames Valley Club's with three side's in recent times.
The Club is renowned for it's friendly and fun loving members which has never been more apparent than during the Club's Centenary in Easter 2009.
Being so close to Auckland and Hamilton, often players from those cities who want to experience Heartland Championship Provincial rugby with Thames Valley will travel to the Club to play. We also welcome oversea's players wanting to experience NZ rugby.
