The museum houses the collection of local identity Jack Morgan. This collection has been built up over the past 30 years.
It includes a fine collection of stationary engines (mostly in running order), agricultural implements, artefacts relating to the local area, the railway and local Maori.
The Museum and Hotel together provide a convenient refreshment stop for travellers on SH1 with the museum, a cafe and public toilets on the same site. There is ample parking.
