In February 1997 Waitakere City received a wonderful gift from our Sister City Kakogawa in Japan, this gift being a Japanese garden.
The Japanese garden was relocated when Council moved to offices in Henderson in 2006. The garden is situated north of the civic building at 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson.
The garden is inspired by the traditional viewing gardens that originated in the 15th century, Japan.
