JAX is a boutique tapas/wine bar in the heart of Newmarket with a creative twist as a fine-art photography gallery.

Founded on a philosophy of sophisticated yet approachable social dining with an emphasis on fresh and high-quality products, we offer a contemporary tapas menu with Asian and Kiwi influences that promises to satisfy and challenge your palette.

We have a concise yet diverse wine list with a strong New Zealand presence, complimented by a small selection from Australia, France and Italy, as well as a range of high-quality single-malt Scottish whiskies and premium spirits. We are proud to only serve NZ craft beers, including Hallertau, Moa, Galbraith’s and Emerson’s, as well as many others.

We are also available for private function bookings as well as out-catering services. In JAX, we guarantee a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, great food and impeccable service.
