Jessie Tonar Scout Reserve
As part of the wider Awataha Greenway Project, local environmental group Kaipātiki Project is working on a community-led restoration of the Jessie Tonar Scout Reserve.
This bush-clad reserve at the end of Kākā Street is home to the source of the Awataha Stream and had deep significance to local Mana Whenua. The flow-on effects from the Awataha Greenway Project will be significant, contributing to numerous ecological and social improvements the whole community will benefit from for years to come.
