Pōneke is located on Wellington’s wonderful waterfront on Clyde Quay wharf, which was once home to Wellington’s ferry terminal. Enjoy a selection of local wines and craft beer with an ever-changing menu inspired by Greek and Mediterranean influences. The space is drenched with sunshine on a good day in Welly.
The word Pōneke name reflects the name of Wellington Harbour; originally named Port Nicholson in 1826, early sailors and settlers shortened this to Port Nick. To the local Māori, the harbour became known as Pōneke.
