NextStep New Zealand was born out of the necessity to keep an iconic facility in our community alive.The facility at 14B was originally designed to provide a place for the owners son to continue his exercise rehabilitation after suffering a spinal cord injury as there was nothing else available at the time. Since then there are still no places for long term intensive rehabilitation outside of the hospital system. Ownership of the facility has changed a few times due to the harsh reality of the lack of funding for continued exercise therapy. Something had to change and as things happened a gym member had sponsored Aaron to go and visit a Neurorecovery facility in Los Angeles and this was the catalyst the facility needed to take the literal NextStep. Aaron made an offer to the previous management to take over the facility and established links with the NextStep franchise which operates another 8 centres worldwide. The NextStep franshise stands for everything the facility was intended to be for and forms the perfect partner to establish our centre as the best in the country.

NextStep NZ is New Zealand's first full spectrum wholistic exercise and recovery centre combined with a full paralysis recovery centre. NextStepNZ's focus is providing a safe space to challenge yourself to change/improve or recover whether it be physical, mental or emotional we have all corners covered. Our facility is a unique space designed with ease of access and a top level of the latest rehabilitation and recovery equipment. Along with a unique facility we have some of the most experienced, qualified and well balanced exercise physiologists that will support your goals whatever they be. Alongside this group are a range of other health professionals located within the centre that can enhance your recovery experience with us.
