Meet our native NZ owls, Owl Capone, Owle MacPherson and Owlvis Presley in surroundings as never seen before. Walk through peaceful spectacular native bush with wooden bridges and the old water wheel. Experience the nostalgia of ye olde Shannon Jail complete with fascinating owl collection.

Get to know Moppy, the Jerusalem donkey, Mai and Eye Deer, endangered North Island weka and other birds and animals. View Big Snow one of the world's largest cattle beasts - You won't believe your eyes!

Unique to Owlcatraz - the Wairuru caves, an awesome experience. Caves are restricted to age 8 and over but all ages can enjoy a ride on the miniature train.

Hours: Open daily with guided tours anytime between the hours of 10.00am - 3.00pm. Tours for schools, groups, clubs available by appointment.

At Owlcatraz the visitor can meet Owl Capone, Owl McPherson, and Owlvis Presley in surroundings never seen before.Other attractions include walks through peaceful, spectacular native bush with wooden bridges and an old waterwheel. In the man-made Wairuru Caves there are glow worms.
