Whangaparāoa translated from the Maori means: whanga, bay; parāoa, whale.
It was only recently. with climate change and whaling, that whale visits to the area were common. Even today, pods of orcas and dolphins visit us.

Our mission
Our goal is simple, to bring some of the best food, wine, beer and live entertainment to the Hibiscus Coast at affordable prices. We wanted to create a social house where you can relax, enjoy music, play pool, throw darts and watch sports TV or take that bottle of wine off to one of our couches.
