The Food Bowl

The FoodBowl is a government-supported, pilot-scale food processing facility located close to the airport in South Auckland.

The FoodBowl makes it easy for ambitious food businesses to innovate, scale up and commercialise new products - ultimately to international scale. 

Innovative start-ups can bring a vision to life, while large corporate innovators can scale-up new products and processes, or test specialised manufacturing machinery before purchase.

Seven independent food-grade processing suites can be hired at The FoodBowl and more than 300 pieces of equipment can be configured to specific client needs.

The suites can be used for product development, or for regular commercial production runs, enabling clients to launch new products with the minimum of risk and maximum agility.

 Our Risk Management Programme allows companies to manufacture for export and test the market overseas, while a Custom Food Control Plan (CFCP) and licences for alcohol, hemp and organic enable clients to work across segments that include beverage, dairy, meat and seafood, nutrition, natural products, ingredients and other processed foods.
