Map showing The Gladstone Sports Compex

The first Gladstone Complex Committee was established in 1979 when the idea of building the facility was first discussed. The committee still operates today ensuring the maintaining of the facility in accordance with the original objectives and aims. The committee meets once a month to discuss proposed community events, maintenance and fundraising. The present committee consists of Tracey O'Callaghan - President, Andy Greenwood - Vice President, Rox Carlsen - Treasurer, Nik Bradley - Secretary and 10 other community members.

In 2010 the committee purchased 'silks' that transform the hall area into a marquee. This has enabled the committee to hire out the facility for weddings and formal occasions which assists in raising funds to maintain the building. With a fully equipped kitchen, toilet facilities and showers it makes the Complex an ideal venue for such events. The spacious grounds and river side locality also make it an ideal venue for larger group functions such as Scout groups or camper van groups. As a nonprofit making organization, prices for hiring the facilities are kept at a very competitive level.

Community members pay annual 'subs' donations which help fund the ever increasing costs of running the facility. As a community owned facility we endeavor to organise and run fun community events each year as a way of bringing the whole community together. We hope to establish some regular events such as the Top Road competition in summer, a touch rugby tournament in Spring and a Top brains quiz night in Winter.
