Thicket Flowers and Gifts

I’m Sarah Romanos, certified florist, and Owner and Founder of Thicket. I’m a floral design nut and a bit of a romantic. Hence my obsession with weddings.

My family and I shifted to Pahiatua in 2021 to embrace life in the regions. We’re in love with Tararua, its people, and its countryside.

Launching Thicket here took a lot of hard graft. We worked for 30 days straight to flip 127 Main Street into the beautiful studio it is now. If you haven’t already, come and experience it. It’s a bit of an ode to foraging. I wanted to create the feeling of exploring a ‘thicket’. Our extra long dried hanging installation helps to set the scene.

We all love to connect with nature. It’s a human thing. I attempt to recreate these moments. Like lying in a meadow, following a stream, or sitting in your nana’s garden. I shrink it down to a mini-meadow, a ceremony “marshland”, an undone bouquet, and installs with sprawling tendrils. Love it all, and look forward to hearing your special stories.
