This is Us - Urban Space

We are a grassroots collective from Sarah Brock’s painting class at The Learning Connexion and we are taking over a Lower Hutt urban space through the month of December.

In addition to over 60 pieces of art for sale at affordable prices, an artist will be at their easel every day. Visitors can learn how these artists approach their work and we will be encouraging them to pick up a paint-brush and discover the hidden artist inside themselves.

Children are welcome to participate in a colouring competition and their art will be judged on 24th December. The winning artworks will be displayed until the end of December.

The exhibition displays a variety of approaches to each artist’s work both in terms of subject matter, inspirational sources and working method. Each has their personal, individual style, and, as emerging artists, will be names to watch out for on the Wellington art scene in the future.

We are an enthusiastic and mostly mature group who are leaping into the unknown for December and look forward to sharing our experiences with the public.
