Get to grips with the dinosaurs' latest look in this interactive exhibition from overseas, featuring life-sized animatronic dinosaurs!
Until recently, scientists thought dinosaurs looked like lizards, with smooth scaly skin coloured in greys, greens and browns.
Now, new fossils found in China have given us a glimpse into the true nature of dinosaurs. These remarkable remains, which include skin, soft tissue, spines and feathers, show that some dinosaurs were more like their modern descendants, birds, than we realised. They had horns, spikes, quills and feathers, and many were likely brightly coloured.
'Dinosaur rEvolution' tells the story of two branches of the dinosaur family, the Ornithischia and the Saurischia. Both orders adapted in different ways to their changing environment, but only one survived to fly away into the future.
The exhibition features four life-sized, moving dinosaurs, skeletons, touchable fossil casts and artworks that reimagine what dinosaurs really looked like.
Major international exhibitions like this are expensive to bring to Canterbury. To help cover the cost, we’re charging for admission to 'Dinosaur rEvolution'.
