A beautiful marriage of Te Reo, Taonga Puoro and Jazz celebrating Māori culture and contemporary jazz.
This concert features soulful singer-songwriter Allana Goldsmith (Ngati Porou/Ngai Tai) and composer pianist Mark Baynes performing their original songs from their latest album E Rere Ra.
Allana’s vocals contain a beautiful mix of Māori and English language and with Mark Baynes’ contemporary jazz stylings this will be a truly uplifting and remarkable concert taking the music of Aotearoa to a whole new level.
Goldsmith Baynes will be joined by respected jazz musicians Tom Dennison on bass, Hikurangi Shaverien-Kaa (Ngati Porou) on drums, with Justin Kereama (Tuhoe) playing Taonga Puoro (Maori instruments).
