Aotearoa Country Music Awards: Finals Concert

A family-friendly afternoon of country music!

Watch the talented finalists from Saturday’s auditions battle it out in their respective sections and age groups, all vying for the prestigious title of Overall Winner, and entry into the supreme national country music competition 2020 Entertainer of the Year.

Hosted by renowned country duo En-TRANZET (1992 Entertainers of the Year), with entertainment from special guest artist, the extremely talented Ainslie Allen (2018 Entertainer of the Year).

Ainslie is no stranger to the entertainment world. From her beginnings on McDonald's Young Entertainers, she has etched out an amazing career as an independent country music artist including entertaining New Zealand and Australian troops in East Timor, singing the National Anthem for the All Blacks, Silverferns, South Africa's Springboks, the Wallabies, and French rugby teams, to touring Hawaii with John Rowles and Elvis Presley's TCB band, and performing before a crowd of 250,000 at NZ's biggest outdoor concert.

After battling it out in the previous day's auditions, two finalists from each section have been selected to represent their country music club striving to win their section and hoping for a place in the prestigious Entertainer of the Year 2020.

Sections include country rock, country solo, country gospel, open duo/group, open western, open NZ country song and open country songwriter. Age categories include Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Veteran and the overall winner in each of these sections will go through to Entertainer of the Year 2020 along with the winner of the open songwriter section.

We are extremely excited to have the very talented and well-respected band Pure Dixie to back our contestants along with a professional sound technician to ensure that everyone is able to meet their full singing/performance potential on the day!
