Aotearoa by Rieko Woodford-Robinson is the opening exhibition of The Perch gallery. Visit and view a selection of pieces from this series, curated by Eyeball Kicks.
Aotearoa showcases anthropomorphic animals and birds, many of which are native, inspired by New Zealand's history and culture.
Rieko's work is influenced by pop surrealism and the Old Masters of the 17th century. Rieko was born in Japan and moved to New Zealand in 1999. She currently makes her magic from a studio in downtown Wellington.
The Perch is a collaboration between Park Hotel and Eyeball Kicks which opened in August 2019.
