Ashburton Employment Exchange

Targeted training sessions and a chance to make productive connections will all be on offer for local employers and job-seekers​ alike at Ashburton's first ever Employment Exchange event on 20 September.​

The Ashburton District Council in partnership with supporting organisations, present the inaugural Ashburton Employment Exchange. A unique networking and training opportunity for those looking to enter the workforce or change direction.

Local employers seeking additional people to join to their teams, either now or in the future, will gain insight into a wider range of jobseekers and the funding support programmes available to them, as well as receiving an employment law and visa update.

The Exchange will help people who may have found it challenging to enter the workforce or who want to move in another direction to connect with employers with the hope to gain work experience or a permanent position.

Guest speakers to feature at the Ashburton Employment Exchange include:
- Immigration NZ
- Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce
- Ministry of Social Development
- Department of Corrections
- And local businesses.

This free event will run from 9am - 12pm at the Ashburton Club & MSA, Havelock Street, Ashburton and includes morning tea for attendees.
