Geologist and author Bruce Hayward will lead this 2 km guided walk along part of the rocky Takapuna to Milford coastal walkway. This is the best example in New Zealand of a fossil forest killed and preserved by a passing lava flow.
The flow was eruopted from Lake Pupuke Volcano about 190,000 years ago. No bookings needed. No cancellation for weather. Brought to you by the Geoscience Society of New Zealand and Auckland Geology Club.
