Is this biography, "Eddie Norman and 25 Battalion", a battalion history of the second world war or it is it a love story? Author, Elizabeth Kay, daughter of 25 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Eddie Norman, aka Sir Edward Norman, Bishop of Wellington, MC, DSO, American Legion of Merit, will explain how it is both, in conversation with author and military historian, Neil Frances at an afternoon event, free entry.

Elizabeth will sign copies of the book, published by The Cuba Press and sold by Messines Bookshop: Military History, a Featherston Booktown Bookshop.

Elizabeth used her father's letters and other writings, as a basis of telling, not only her father's story, but also of the wider story of New Zealand's engagement in the second world war, particularly the battles and experiences of New Zealand troops in North Africa and Italy. The 364 page book includes 200 images plus high quality and informative maps. The love story is woven through the battle reports by way of Eddie's letters back to his wife Margaret.
