Awesome Fun Jazz Night and Jam

The first in a series of jazz concerts and jazz jam sessions hosted by Andy Christiansen and Mike Jensen at Kapiti Coast's home of music, the Raumati Social Club.

For the first half, our resident house band, "The RSC Quintet" featuring uber-talented, Jake Baxendale (tenor sax), jazz legend, Nik Van Dijk (piano) and Raumati local boy, Aaron Stewart (upright bass), will present Miles Davis' classic album from 1956, Workin'.

Workin was one of four classic albums Miles Davis recorded during the mid 1950's with his first great quintet that included John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Phillly Jo Jones.

Following this we'll have an open jazz jam session where members of the audience are welcome to come have a play with the band so dust off your standards chops and come have a jam - (sign up for the session will be essential).
