Babywearing North Shore Workshops & Coffee Catch-ups

Held in the Bayview Community Centre Hall. A gold coin koha is always appreciated to contribute to the running costs of the group. Babywearing North Shore is run by a group of passionate volunteers.
Workshops and coffee catchups are not held in the school holidays.

On the second Friday of the month, 10am - 12noon, we hold a babywearing workshop. You get to see a demonstration of all the main types of safe, well designed baby carriers (pouch slings, ring slings, stretchy wraps, mei tais, soft structured carriers and woven wraps).

Then there is time to pick up and try on whatever has caught your fancy, ask more questions, and get some one to one help. Feel free to bring a carrier along if you'd like specific help with it. Carriers are also available to hire for 2 weeks, so you can try before you go and purchase something, making sure it is a good choice for you.

Fourth Friday of the month, 10am - 12 noon, we hold a coffee group. This is more a time to sit down and socialise, as it is not easy to do that during a workshop, in general. And babywearing parents are often such lovely people! The carrier library is not there for hires, but we don't mind chatting a bit about carriers and helping you out with getting your carrier just right. A good time to return any hired carriers too.

Caught the babywearing bug? There is a Facebook Group called Auckland Babywearing Get Togethers, for coordinating social catch ups for people who enjoy the babywearing experience. There are weekly walks organised, at different locations around Auckland, as well. Feel free to ask to be added.
