Our Bollywood Beginner’s dance class is suitable for absolute beginners to Bollywood dancing and to dancing in general.

Originating from the Hindi cinema industry based in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), Bollywood dancing came to international recognition during the 2000s. It is performed on the soundtrack of popular Indian movies and has evolved since 1910s to its present form.

Nowadays it includes aspects of Indian classical dance styles, folk dance as well as Western influences such as hip hop.

Bollywood dancing is a highly expressive dance form where the meaning of the lyrics are the basis of the choreography. Anju, your teacher, is originally from Mumbai and speaks Hindi fluently so that she will be able to convey to you the meaning of the songs, making this dance class a cultural and informative experience as well as a fun and easy workout.
