Rotorua Museum is happy to announce the return of the bi-annual Art Awards for 2019 and are calling upon all Bay of Plenty artists to enter.

In association with Friends of Rotorua Museum this prestigious competition is sponsored by Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, Lockwood and More FM.

Entries are invited from artists, in any art or craft medium including digital/moving image, who currently reside, work or study in the Bay of Plenty, and those students who study away from their Bay of Plenty home base.

Prizes include:
Rotorua Museum Supreme Award at $10,000
Friends of Rotorua Museum Emerging Artist at $1,000
Toi Ohomai Innovation in Art Award at $1,000
Lockwood Youth Award at $1,000 (artists 18 years and under)
More FM People’s Choice Awards at 2x $500 (in gallery and on Facebook)

This will be the largest prize pool that Rotorua Museum has ever offered. Rotorua Lakes Council Arts and Culture Manager, Stewart Brown, hopes local and regional artists will take up this exciting opportunity to showcase their skills.
