You are invited to the grand opening of the CAN Japanese Festival 2019.

Friday 10 May, 5-7pm, light refreshments will be served. All welcome!

The Napier Deputy Mayor, Faye White will open the 'City Treasures from Japan' exhibition, and the CAN Japanese Festival.

In addition, Chieko Hayashi will be in attendance for the opening of her exhibition of silk embroidered kimono on the same night.

Please feel very welcome to join us as the CAN celebrates our community’s connections with Japan.

We would like to extend out thanks to Crab Farm Winery for their generous sponsorship of the opening event.

Other Festival events include:
A Calligraphy Workshop, Sushi-Making Workshop, Sybille Schlumbom - Artist’s Talk and Demo, Stab Book Binding Workshop, a Haiku Display and two Origami Drop-in Days (Sundays 12 and 19 May, 10am - 2pm).
