Cartooning for Beginners
An introduction to cartooning where you’ll learn to express yourself though this engaging and creative medium.
Through exposure to cartoon styles and simple tools of cartooning, you’ll be able to demonstrate construction of characters, movement, expression and background scenes, including single frame and full page sequencing with a story line. Modelling, toning and device usage will develop your ability to create personal characters and provide you with a rewarding medium of expression.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- Draw cartoon figures depicting expression and movement
- Understand perspective and demonstrate exterior and interior scenes
- Be able to plot a story line and illustrate a sequence of action on a page
- Acquire a developing understanding and appreciation of cartoonists and their styles and humour
Bring a B pencil, soft rubber, ruler, photocopy quality A3 and A4 paper, and a folder, along with examples of a cartoonist that you would like to emulate.
Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly.
