There’s a word for people there isn’t a word for- a What-Not, and London comedian Charmian is their champion.
So, gather round, all you odd-bods, weirdies, originals and sympathetic observers for this brand-new one-woman comedy show. This is Charmian’s third visit to the Dunedin Fringe after her 2017 debut ‘Soixante Mirth’ when big love for Dunedin, the Fringe and New Zealand was instant – and mutual.
Charmian began her comedy career during the UK Alternative Comedy Revolution working alongside legends like Jo Brand, Bill Bailey and Eddie Izzard and she’s been creating new original intelligent and delightful stuff ever since. Charmian has performed her comedy throughout the UK comedy circuit, including 'The Comedy Store' and the infamous 'Up the Creek and Tunnel Clubs', a high security prison and the 'British Houses of Parliament'.
In 2018, she dropped in on Melbourne Comedy Festival to perform a few sets and went down a storm. Charmian has performed at the New Zealand Fringe (Bats) and Auckland Fringe (Q Theatre and Garnett Station Tiny Theatre). She has been performing at the Edinburgh Festival with a new show every year since 2011. Charmian has emceed the huge Comedy Tent for the famous Glastonbury Festival many times, was nominated for the British Buxton Fringe Best Show in 2016 and in 2018 was Grand Finalist in the UK Petworth Fringe Comedian of The Year.
