Ngā Uruora – Kāpiti Project is a community based conservation project with a big work program and an even bigger vision. Set up in 1997 to reverse the drastic decline of coastal forest, their aim is to create a continuous ribbon of bird-safe native forest running from Pukerua Bay to Paekakariki.

Join Conservation Volunteers NZ for day and lend a hand to Ngā Uruora with a variety of tasks such as improving lizard habitat and track building. We provide tools and gloves provided as well as an experienced team leader. Free transport available from from the Z station on Vivian St at 8am.

Registrations for this event are essential as places are limited: https://bookings.conservationvolunteers.org/project/nga-uruora

What to bring/wear: sturdy boots essential, long sleeves and pants, a hat and a waterproof jacket. Bring a water bottle and some food.

So join us this Conservation Week as we help to protect this stunning coastal landscape!
