An immersive experience in Irish cooking and culture where you'll learn how to create a variety of traditional, flavoursome and impressive (yet simple) dishes, and also recall a "cúpla focail as Gaeilge" – a couple of words in Gaelic. All ingredients provided.

Presenter: Clare Nagle

“A Taste of Ireland” is primarily a cooking class, but also aims to showcase the wonders of Irish culture and introduce some basic Irish language components. Each week, you’ll be given a booklet with the night's recipes written in English (and the ingredients listed in Irish) and will be introduced to an Irish folk tale or song.

Sessions will include both demonstrations and hands-on involvement, and will include classics like Brown Soda Bread, Bacon and Cabbage Potato Gratin and Colcannon. At the end of every session, we’ll sit down together and eat our creations while listening to some music and generally having a bit of "craic" (fun).

By the end of the course, you’ll:
- Have made a selection of traditional Irish dishes
- Be confident in your ability to re-create and alter these dishes at home
- Be able to introduce yourself in Gaelic and know an array of words related to each dish you make
- Have experienced some "craic and ceol" (fun and music)

All ingredients provided but bring an apron, tea towels and a dish cloth and containers to take any leftovers home.

Presenter: Clare Nagle
