Create onto canvas or paper your own piece of modern art to take home with 1-1 guidance from tutor Ariadne.
The workshop starts with Ariadne talking briefly about two of the big influences on modern art Matisse and Picasso and then summarising colour, aesthetics, and expressionism / abstraction followed by a discussion of some of our fears and worries about creating art (whether people are experienced or not).
Then there will be some exercises (onto paper) that anyone is capable of, like using different props to apply paint. (i.e. twigs, scrapers old cork from bottles etc) experimenting with blocks of colour and how to abstract a simple shape, to loosen up from overthinking when it comes to art, the main goal being to help people realise that there are no mistakes or wrong ways of doing things.
Ariadne studied fine art at university in the UK 20 years ago and has worked as a PA organising teams of people and managing/running events, also project management within IT and graphic design. She paints in her spare time and make mobiles out of wool, along with caring for her two young children.
