Creative Jazz Club: Mat Fieldes' "The Committee"

New York-based Kiwi bassist Mat Fieldes convenes "The Committee": a stellar group, to explore the 21st Century in Jazz.

This Auckland based collective is made up of some of the most skilled and experienced musicians in New Zealand. Mat Fieldes has spent 25 years based in New York touring the world, playing and recording with such legends as Ornette Coleman and Joe Zawinul.

Roger, Dixon and Ron are Faculty at the Auckland University Jazz Dept. Together they bring their different influences and writing styles to cover styles from more traditional Jazz to the contemporary music of today. Our purpose is to present as diverse a programme as possible.
