Learn to write and illustrate stories like a professional - with help from a published author and illustrator.

'Write Like an Author/Draw Like an Illustrator' is a fun holiday camp for young writers and artists. Held in a fun and supportive setting at Tauranga Intermediate, this camp will see children aged 10 to 14 years create, develop and write awesome stories with help from award-winning author and writing coach Maria Gill plus a professionally published illustrator (to be announced).

Maria is the award-winning author of over 57 books. She has won the New Zealand Book Awards for Children & Young Adults Non-Fiction, and the Margaret Mahy Best Book of the Year Award.

Half of the day is writing, and the other half will be spent on illustration.

Over the course of the day children will develop their writing skills and discover how they too can write like a professional author! Plus they'll discover how to creatively interpret the written word, how to explore colour and texture in new ways to make cool and exciting artwork.

But most of all, they’ll have heaps of fun!

The number of places on the camp is strictly limited so register early if your child is interested in attending the camp.

The camp is non-residential, and runs from 9am to 3pm.
The course fee is $72 including a discount for early-bird registration.

If your child enjoys creative writing and/or illustration, they are sure to love this special school holiday camp.
