CubaDupa

Here at CubaDupa we stand for the extraordinary and are proud to activate the ultimate platform of transformation, discovery, innovation and extraordinary cultural experiences in the heart of the Creative Capital.

CubaDupa is a free, family friendly event, open to all ages and encouraging community spirit. Held across the last weekend of March, the perfect celebration to bookend the Wellington summer.

With 17 curated hours of entertainment, spanning the genres and creative mediums, CubaDupa has something to offer everyone. Artistic installations, parades, music on stages, DJ's, dance, roaming acts, children’s activities and workshops, The Extravaganza Fair, our annual Moore Wilson’s Street Feast, and one-off licensed areas in the completely pedestrianised Cuba Street Precinct.

We are passionate about providing a festival that focuses on artistic immersion and accessibility. Combining artists from local, national and global stages, our focus is set on enriching our community with artistic excellence through inclusion, participation and artistic exploration.

Expect to see the unexpected for 2019, CubaDupa’s 5th year running under the artistic direction of Drew James and the underlying theme of transformation; sights, sounds, space and taste.

CubaDupa is nurtured under umbrella of Wellington’s Creative Capital Arts Trust, a non-profit organisation looking out for the arts and artists alike, also housing the fabulous New Zealand Fringe Festival.
