David White: Harm Ends, Futures Begin

David White's daughter, Helen Meads, was killed by her husband in 2009 after years of abuse. The horrific murder left two girls with a dead mother, imprisoned father and being raised by their grandparents.

In that time David has also been campaigning for an end to family violence and speaking to groups across the country including prison inmates. As a White Ribbon Ambassador David is striving to change attitudes to family violence in New Zealand.

White is currently on his "Harm Ends - Futures Begin" tour of New Zealand visiting and speaking in 71 electorates in 71 days. While he still finds it incredibly difficult to tell his traumatic story he knows his message on how to build stronger communities needs to be heard.

We're pleased to be hosting David on this tour at Rotorua Library, Te Aka Mauri at 10am on Friday 12 April.

White is the author of two books about family violence, "Helen: the Helen Meads tragedy" and "Family violence: lifting New Zealand's dark cloud". Copies of the books will be available for sale (cash preferred) with proceeds going to charity.​
