PagePlus is a British desktop publishing application provided at a modest cost to those with a computer. It is not specifically a Word Processing Application in the same way as Microsoft’s Word or as Open Office, although word processing functions can be carried out within it.
It is best used to bring together text and graphics that have been created in these other applications and arrange them in an attractive manner ready for printing or transmitting electronically. This application has a huge range of tools making the placement of blocks of texts, drawings, tables, charts and shapes exactly where they are wanted and offering a huge number of colour options and their degree of transparencies.
The course offered in Level one is aimed at introducing just some of the above options at a base level using the latest version X9.
You will need to have this software on your home computer. If you don’t already have it, contact the tutor for options. The cost should not be more than $40.
Computers are available for your use at the centre but you may bring your own laptop to the course.
The course runs on 4 consecutive Wednesday mornings for 2 hours from 10 am.
Bookings essential but the course is free to financial members. Must be current members of SeniorNet Glenfield or join (annual fee $30). If you are new to SeniorNet you are invited to attend a Meet and Greet session on a Monday morning between 10 am and 12md. Ring for an appointment.
