Summer is a great time to try dragon boating - and winter too, just a bit colder.
Valley Dragonboat Club, with the support from the Wellington Dragon Boat Festival are holding a dragon boat Have a Go Day.
Bring a partner, friend, parent (some paddlers are over 70!), children - 12 years and older - and experience this exciting activity together.
You'll be provided with a life jacket, paddle, and instruction by experienced dragon boaters.
The event is on - rain or shine - if it is too windy, we'll stay in the lagoon for safety. If the weather is fantastic, we may even take you around the fountain in Oriental Bay. Either way, you'll have a fantastic time and an experience to tell your friends about.
Did we mention it's free? So you'll have money left over to have a coffee - at Kaffee Eis (also great ice cream), Tuatua Cafe, or Karaka Cafe which are all great places to watch dragon boating from.
Would like to come but have other priorities on the 14th? No worries, you'll have another opportunity mid January. Or maybe just join one of our teams, we have room for more males and females in our mixed and masters teams.
Don't know what to wear when dragon boating? Check out the website and see our Facebook page for other information.
