Farmers Trading Co with Ted Dickens (with NZSL interpreter)

Beginning in 1953 with his first job as a message boy for the Farmers Trading Company, Ted Dickens held many positions and ended up staying for 33 years.

Drawing on that long-time association comes this fascinating talk on Robert Laidlaw's founding of Farmers, and the growth of his mail-order dream into the renowned Kiwi department store it became.

Bio: Ted Dickens started with the company aged 15 in 1953 as a message boy and held many different positions with them in different areas. He was a Merchandise Controller responsible for $300 million in sales when he eventually left the company in 1986.
