Landscapes have been my main interest since the 1950s; I have always been attracted to their atmospheric qualities. In the late 1960s I developed an interest in working with watercolour, this came through the processes of etching and aquatint.

Working from realistic impression it soon became apparent to me that the medium of watercolour requires a quick application, this has led to a semi-abstract approach and the freedom that comes with it.
