There has been a lot of discussion recently around the impacts of climate change on businesses and what we can do to ensure our environment is preserved for future generations. Carbon neutrality is something that all businesses need to consider and build into their overall strategy, but what does it mean to be Carbon Zero? What does it look like and how can we do it well?

“Going Zero: Showcasing a Carbon Zero Future”, kindly hosted by PwC, will shine a spotlight on our members who are successfully implementing programmes to reduce their carbon footprint and will provide you with an understanding of the impact upcoming changes to legislation will have on you and your business.

We will also be sharing highlights from a new film – Our Planet: Our Business that explores the immense value of nature to our economy, the scale of the challenges that we are facing, and the critical role that business can play in creating solutions at scale. As a corporate sponsor of Our Planet: Our Business, PwC are proud to be collaborating with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to share this film amongst Wellington business people.

Hon. James Shaw will set the scene with an update on the Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Bill, which aims to provide a framework by which New Zealand can develop and implement clear and stable climate change policies that contribute to the global effort under the Paris Agreement to limit the global average temperature increase to 1.5° Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

You will then hear from three organisations who are working towards a carbon zero future and have the opportunity to ask your burning questions. You will be inspired by their stories of success and come away with ideas and strategies for how you too can be carbon zero in the workplace.

Spaces are limited so make sure you register now.
