Fold, unfold, fold again, unfold again. Paper folding is the basic skill of all Japanese paper craft and while simple to learn is used to create stunning, often complex results.

Even today children in Japan are encouraged to practise origami to develop fine motor skills and focus. So, why can’t we?! Studies have shown that these finger exercises stimulate the brain and may actually help our minds stay fit and sharp.

In this course you will learn how to make cranes, roses, jumping frogs and other delightful creations, including boxes. As much as possible we will use recycled materials and Kazuko will open your eyes to a whole world of folding household items!

Please bring $5 to cover materials, craft scissors if you have some and come prepared to have fun and lots of laughs.

Kazuko is an accomplished Japanese musician and teaches many aspects of Japanese culture.
