In a posthumous solo show, her first, the family of the late Paulina (Pava) Jovanovic shares a collection of the Serbian artist’s paintings and sketches.

Pava was the first woman to assemble mosaics in post-war Serbia, but she worked anonymously for most of her career in the shadows of other artists’ studios. After immigrating to join family in Birkenhead, she focused on painting and drawing.

"Self-effacing, yet deeply sensitive and aware of the nature and beauty around her, Pava’s works resonate with vulnerability and honesty," is how Ana Ivanovic-Tongue describes her aunt and her talent.
