Home Alone Music is proud to present the national tour of Lake South's sophomore album, 'Wellington - Te Upoko O Te Ika'.

Lake South performs electricUTOPIA music with midi triggers, guitar, and voice – along with live drums from Eddie Crawshaw (Sheep, Dog & Wolf, Bonaparte). In 2017, Lake South released his first album 'If You're Born On An Island The Ocean Heals You' to critical acclaim.

"A well-written dream." – NZ Musician Magazine

"Nostalgic, elegiac synth-pop meditations on what it means to be a 20/30-something in modern Aotearoa." – National Library of NZ

"Complex, interesting, prematurely nostalgic... yet capturing the zeitgeist for his generation." – Elsewhere Music blog

"This underrated artist is a titanic talent." – The Revue.ca

"Smart lyrics, tasteful synth and a distinct New Zealand accent." – The Wild Honey Pie

'Wellington | Te Upoko O Te Ika' is an album that explores one person's interpretation of place. A web app has been created to allow people to listen to the songs in the places they sing about. You can experience Lake South's 'Wellington' now, here: https://lake-south.com/wellington

Instead of physical albums, a set of 11 postcards will be available at live shows. Each postcard represents a song/place/sentiment.

"I can hear music, as I walk without grace through back-blocks of gorse – I'm nothing here. I know the hills, I know the wind, I feel it blowing me. I found a path, steep and unclear, I climb it to comprehend..."

Support from Timothy Blackman & Robert Scott.
