Lavender Farm Fair

Over the weekend of 9/10 February Lavender Farm Fair is being run to raise funds for the launch of a centre to celebrate the life and work of internationally renowned Kapiti ceramic artist Mirek SmÍšek.

There will be something for everyone happening on the farm. Lavender products, chocolate, handcrafts, fruit, vegetables and more will be available from local artisans. There will also be working displays by ceramic artists Pamella Annsouth, Jenny Shearer and others and exhibitions of pottery, spinning, flax weaving and other arts. Te Horo vintage farm tractor enthusiast Rod Clifton will be displaying treasures from his collection.

If you get hungry or feel like a coffee while strolling around the market there will be lunches for sale. For those who simply enjoy being in the country there are gardens including a lavender collection garden, a working essential oil distillery and small copper stills, short walks, a stream, vineyard and olive grove.

Come and enjoy this event in the blue fields of lavender, maybe to find some local art, food or to just enjoy a coffee in this beautiful setting.
