We have a great "learn to sew" weekend workshop planned for March 23-24 at the Karori Arts and Crafts centre in Karori. It is suitable for kids aged 7+ to adult.
You will learn to:
- Use and maintain your sewing machine safely, how to control your machine, how to sew samples that teach effective stitching, how to sew fabric, iron properly, put in a zip and hem an item.
- Make a small zippered bag, makeup purse or pencil case
- Make a fully lined large tote bag with external zip
You will need to bring your own sewing machine, pins and scissors. (We do have a limited number of machines that can be borrowed but please check with the office before paying if you need to use one for the class).
Designed for children aged 7 and up, although you can bring children aged 5-6 if you stay with them and do the class.
